Our chapter's winter feeding program has been in full force since January 1, with more people needing help showing up at both barns than we've seen in years-due to the winter we're having, no doubt. At this point, we are hoping our funds hold out until winter breaks, and we're praying that's early.
At present, we are feeding in excess of 1000 birds in a five county area, with more people trying to feed birds on their own showing up for our help every day. Meetings are being held monthly, as usual, and, as usual, are being held at the Gaylord District DNR office on February 14, March 13, and April 10 at 7 p.m. Please join us! Our spring turkey hunter's workshop is once again back to its old home-the Northland Sportsman's Club in Gaylord on April 12th. We are already selling our raffle tickets for that event, our biggest fund raiser of the year. We've also established an endowment fund with a very generous $1000 donation from longtime member Errol Lee. We are hoping to add to that as time goes by.
