Greetings M.W.T.H.A. members. Here we are in the middle of summer, wishing it were fall. Fall is perhaps my favorite time of year. Goose hunting gets me started hunting in late summer and really makes me wish for fall. In the fall, I can get up in the morning and decide if I want to hunt or if I would rather fish.
We all know that the salmon fishing in Michigan Rivers can be very explosive, but hunting early in the season before the critters wise up is a lot of fun also, what a terrible dilemma, to have to choose between the two. We in the Kenowa chapter had a slow spring and summer, having said that we did donate some money this past winter. A year ago, we gave a donation to a Cub Scout Troop to build portable tables for camp, well they are now Boy scouts, and this year we donated $250.00 towards the purchase of an enclosed trailer to haul camping gear to their outings. We also donated $50.00 to a farmer in Ravenna, MI to help him feed a flock of 80 turkeys and $50.00 to a man in Alto, MI to help feed a flock of 75 turkeys. Once again, we are planning to meet on sept.10, 2008 at 7:00 pm at the Wyoming fire station #2 on Division Ave. one block south of 44th. St. if you need directions give me a call at 616-247-1633. Look forward to seeing you there. Everyone have a good ending to your summer and have a great and successful fall.
