The Cherryland Electric Cooperative board member election which takes place in May, has spurred a campaign to expose transparency and environmental issues at the co-op.

One of the new board member candidates, Traverse City resident Maureen Charbonneau, along with the advocacy website, Co-OpConversations.org, have created an informative video to shed light on plans that will increase electric rates and harm the environment. The video, Cherryland Electric: Getting Back on Track, also available on YouTube encourages Cherryland members to vote in the upcoming board member election. Ballots are available in the May issue of Country Lines Magazine, the official publication of the co-op.

In MWTHA's role as stewards of the environment, we encourage Cherryland members to watch the video, and then vote in the upcoming election. Or if you know a Cherryland Electric Co-Op customer, please forward this link.
