The developer is intending on expanding the Lakewood Shores Resort in Oscoda Twp. to “further develop and enhance golfing opportunities in Oscoda.” They currently operate three other golf courses in the area.

The state legislators, including Representative Joel Sheltrown and Senator Tony Stamas are claiming economic development in this area is needed to increase employment opportunities. This short term economic boost means that our state would loose valuable state forest land forever, which is well used by hunters, to satisfy this economic expansion.
