New evidence indicates that chronic wasting disease will inevitably, if not having already arrived, be transmitted to our Michigan Upper Peninsula deer herd. Baited deer do not care about boundary lines between states like Michigan and Wisconsin.

At least monthly the Michigan DNR has published a column entitled “Cuffs and Collars” describing its actions taken against persons committing illegal acts in each of ten separate regions making up our state. Regulations being violated by those who have no regrets and take no responsibility for obeying rules have always been the primary justification for having DNR enforcement officers.

If you are often disappointed like I am by the homogenized storyline of many media people pertaining to outdoor matters, you may have interest in reading further. Outdoor writers seem fast disappearing that still exercise self-discernment by rendering their views much beyond the storyline they are fed.
