A lot of times after the snow melts down you may see these weird trails, no they aren’t “snow worm trails”, lol. They appear to be the run-ways that mice leave behind after navigating under the snow looking for food. There are a lot more of them where birds have dropped seeds from the feeder around the oak tree.

I saw this pic recently and thought there might be some folks who wouldn’t get it. Sometimes when a hunter harvests a great Tom turkey they may refer to it as “a real limb hanger!” This is when the spurs are long enough to hang the Tom upside down on a limb. In my limited experience with birds of this spur size, the spurs need to be well in excess of 1” to accomplish this feat.
