This year, a long time Osceola County resident, retired Michigan State Police trooper, former Osceola County Commissioner, and MWTHA Founder and Pere Marquette Chapter President has been presented with the Osceola-Lake and Mecosta Conservation District’s Conservationist of the Year Award. The award is presented to recognize individuals, conservation organizations, and others for outstanding accomplishments with protecting and conserving our natural resources.

As always, the state turkey calling contest was very competitive, and this year was no exception. The event was held at the 2011 MWTHA Wild Turkey Hunters Rendezvous in Baldwin, MI on March 26.
