Public comment sought on forest land for golf course deal

State Senator John Gleason (D-Flushing) is seeking public comment on a bill that would force the DNR to sell forest land to a private developer. Now is the time to act in order to prevent this bill from passing, as time is of the essence.

As mentioned in our MWTHA poll, The Turkey Call, the Michigan Senate is now considering a bill (HB 5058) that would force the DNR to sell 475 acres of the AuSable State Forest to a private developer. The DNR is opposed to this type of deal, and if enacted, would set a dangerous precedent.
