On 1/21/12 attended the Michigan Chapter of NWTF board meeting at Big Rapids. We furnished them with information on the loss of habitat in the 2006 Huron-Manistee Forest Plan. On 2/24/12 P.M. Chapter meeting. Planning continued for the Rendezvous, conservation issues. Voted to contribute $100 to the MUCC kid?s camp for purchase of 3-D targets.

On 2/17/12 set up MWTHA booth for the first day of the Deer and Turkey Spectacular at Lansing. A special Thank You to the MWTHA members who manned our booth the final two days. On 3/7/12 we presented our Wild Turkey program to 47 students and 5 adults of the Project Focus program at the Baldwin Public Schools.

On 3/13/12 we held a P.M. Chapter meeting. We supported 2,639 Wild Turkeys through the winter within our 13 county chapter area, purchased 4,500 pounds of corn at a cost of $1,522. Plans for the Rendezvous were finalized. Reported on status of S.B. 412 and the problems with the NWTF. Reported on our booth at the Grand Rapids expo on January 25, 26 and 27.

On 3/20/12 attended a focus group meeting, representing our conservation organization, at the DNR RAM center at Higgins Lake. We participated in input on the pending DNR Strategic Plan. On 4/14/12 we conducted two Wild Turkey presentations at Family Day at the Kettunen Center. The State Chapter meeting was held at Clare on 2/26/12. Reports were given, issues discussed and consensus was reached.

On 5/17/12 we presented our Wild Turkey program at Osceola County Rural Education Days to 228 4th grade students from 3 school districts, plus teachers and chaperons. We gave 11 presentations over 2 days of the event. On 5/20 attended the MUCC District 13 meeting at the Fin and Feather Club at Scottville. On 5/30/12 attended the signing ceremony for S.B. 412 at Governor Snyder’s office at the capitol. On 6/6/12 we attended the Michigan Resource Stewards meeting at Clare, where Jim Maturen holds the vice president’s position.
