2/18/11-2/20/11 our chapter with the great assistance from a crew of MWTHA from the Detroit area represented MWTHA at the Deer and Turkey Spectacular at Lansing. This was the first time that we were represented there. Because of the great work of the Detroit crew it was very successful. THANK YOU guys!

2/23/11 we and the Ausable River Valley Chapter met with the DNR at the RAM Center at Higgins Lake to discus the pending trap and transfer of Wild Turkeys from southern Michigan to the Mio-Fairview area.

3/14/11 we ended our winter Wild Turkey survival program. We purchased 16,200 pounds of shelled corn, distributed it to 2,812 turkeys in 47 flocks at a cost of $2,106. These numbers reflect the continued decline of our precious Wild Turkeys throughout the northland.

2/13/11 the State Chapter meeting was held at Clare. Ten separate issues were disused and consensus was reached. The State Chapter meetings are held twice each year and is the glue that holds the organization together. Our roots go back to 1983. When MWTHA was formed in 1996 each chapter is a separate conservation organization bound together by a set of bylaws and a common interest.

3/15/11 we made a $100 donation to the 4H shooting team of Tosco County.

3/15/11 we held the last chapter meeting before the Rendezvous. Discussion of the issues continued. Planning for the Traverse City Hunting Expo and the Rendezvous was completed.

A resounding round of applause goes out to all of our members who donates their time, talents and expertise to make this event and our other events so successful. THANK YOU!!!!
