How the MI DNR will see this year’s hatch remains to be seen, but we’ve been disappointed to hear about spring hunters being allowed to switch their tags for a different season, different area, all sorts of crazy things-it doesn’t seem to matter any more whether an area can tolerate more hunters or not. You can count on more every year. And less  quality of the hunt.

The wild turkeys in the state of Michigan belong to all of us-not just the privileged few. That’s something we’re hoping the DNR remembers-we’ll be watching to see what is proposed for the 2008 spring season this fall very closely.

But first, for many of us in Michigan this year, we have a fall season to prepare for. If you are planning on hunting this fall, be sure to attend our annual Fall Wild Turkey Hunter’s Workshop, to be held at Jay’s in Clare in Saturday, September 29th form 10:00am till noon-admission is always free, and as always, every penny raised goes towards the welfare of the wild turkey. We look forward to seeing you there!
We’ve got lots more information on the workshop and other chapter activities in this edition of Turkey Tracks, and don’t forget to check out our website, located at http://www.mwtha.net

Have a great summer, and we’ll see you at Jay’s!
