The North Central Chapter has been busy this year! We gave away 10 tons of corn for our Winter feed program. We had our annual banquet in March and gave away 31 guns! We were happy to provide our local C.O. with a robotic turkey which they are using to try and catch poachers. We also contributed to local charities this year. We are currently making plans to sponsor a predator hunt in January. Hoping to get good participation for this, as it would help take out predators that rob nests and eat the young turkeys! We continue to look for ways to protect our wild turkey population in Clare, Gladwin, Midland and Isabella counties!

Not a bad morning for this old man…8” beard and 3/4” spurs in Clare Co. about 10:30 AM. Three Toms came in to check out my cheesy jake and hen decoys, but this team has worked many times. I took what I thought was the boss. He’ll eat just fine.

Here’s my lovely wife who took this great bird opening morning about 11:00 AM in Clare Co. It has an 8” beard with 1/2” spurs. Her right shoulder was replaced in January from a fall and she thought it probably wouldn’t take the shotgun’s recoil so she desided to try a crossbow, it worked! She’s a keeper 😉
