All of Area J saw more than 2 feet of snow on the level for more than five months last winter, accompanied by weeks of temperatures that never rose above 10 degrees, with more than a few nights of 25 below.
Despite those horrific conditions, wild turkeys that received steady supplies of shelled corn and sunflower, all of it from private property owners, survived, although populations in this area are believed to be half or less of just three years ago. As of this writing, no meetings, events, or feeding programs are planned for this year that I am aware of.
I continue to maintain our MDOT trash pick-ups three times a year, as well as our Facebook page. Stop by and say hello, and if you have any ideas on how to get our chapter going again, I’d like to hear them! Or feel free to contact me.
